Remember Dad and Granddad on September 6th
Spring is just around the corner and so is Father’s Day. How about giving the men you love the day off whilst someone else does the gardening or home maintenance tasks to get the home and garden “spic and span”. Angels are able to provide almost any non-tradesman service. General household maintenance, replacement of tap-washers or light-globes, sweeping paths, outside window cleaning, minor carpentry repairs, touch-up painting, lawn mowing, garden maintenance, gutter cleaning, fertiliser spreading, rubbish removal, weed control, pruning/trimming and car cleaning. What better present for Dad or Granddad than to give him the day off!

Brain Injury Awareness Week 2009
Only 5 weeks until Brain Injury Awareness Week 14th to 20th September 2009. A Calendar of Events will be sent to support groups, other networks and for publicised on their website. If you would like to advertise your BIAW event, please contact Lesia on lesias@biansw.org.au.

Fit & Well – Get into the breakfast habit
It has been said many times, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. After a long period without eating your blood sugar levels will be low. Skipping breakfast can mean your body will start to crave something sweet and you'll end up snacking on unhealthy foods.

Start the day with a filling and nutritious meal and you will give your metabolism a kick start. You'll feel full until lunch time with no temptation to snack your way through the morning. Some studies have also shown that eating breakfast (high carbohydrate/low fat) can make you more alert and assertive to face the day. Get in the Habit today. Read more here from Performance Body Works.

Top Tips - Don't dump it

Computers are loaded with hazardous chemicals like lead, benzene and mercury, but just 5% of computers in Australia are currently recycled. The rest end up as landfill. Here’s a tip. If you computer still works offer it to a local charity or school. If it’s useless or too old, MRI and Dell will take any brand of computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor or printer off your hands for a small fee. See www.mri.com.au or www.dell.com.au/recycle for more details  Read more great tips here.

August 2009

Welcome
August is upon us and already it’s another busy month. We are really looking forward to The Baby Show in Sydney and working very closely with the organisers to make the crèche the perfect place to leave your little ones. We are also currently working with The Women’s Expo to provide a similar service in October. Events such as these are dedicated to the needs of families and women – something DIAL-AN-ANGEL has a keen interest in as well.
We are currently recruiting new Angels for care, nursing, domestic cleaning and childcare. We are experiencing a high demand for our Registered Nurses and Attendant Care at this time, particularly in and around the Sydney Metropolitan Area. Should you know of someone wanting to return to the workforce, supplement their income or work only during school hours, please ask them to contact us on 1300 721 111 or visit our website.

Until next time, travel safely,

Danielle Robertson
