Health Alert - The benefits of Broccoli
Mum was right when she told you to eat your greens! A recent study undertaken by researchers at Dundee University in Scotland, has found that broccoli, rocket, brussels sprouts and cabbages may hold the key to beating Alzheimer’s disease and other degenerative diseases. Through this research, it is hoped that a drug based on ‘sulforaphane’ could help kick-start the body’s own protective or antioxidant mechanisms. Top Cleaning Tips – Baking Soda
Do you want to stop using harsh chemicals for the household cleaning? Why not try good old trusty Baking Soda?

Add a little lemon juice, vinegar or even water to produce a gentle yet abrasive paste to create a great all-purpose cleaner and stain remover. The best bit about this? It isn’t corrosive like many harsh cleaning products. The most famous property of Baking Soda would have to be its deodorising action as it has the incredible ability to absorb and neutralise odours, making it a great cleaner for the refrigerator and deodoriser for the dishwasher

Fit & Well - Indoor Exercise Alternatives
Are you too cold to brave exercise outdoors this winter? Why not try the indoor alternatives?

Tai chi is an exercise that is slow and graceful and has been used for fitness for 500 years. Its fluid movements improve mobility and cultivate tranquillity. As a Chinese martial art, it is also useful for self-defence, which makes it a great all round winter exercise.
Pilates is an integrated series of exercises designed to build the core muscles of the torso. It is a conditioning program used to improve flexibility, strength, muscle control and coordination.
Zumba is an active mix of aerobics and Latin dance and classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Zumba is designed to and promises to make exercise fun and it certainly delivers on that promise!

Don’t forget to
warm up and cool down before and after your brand new winter exercise routine. Make sure you also consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimes.
