Melbourne and Perth celebrate an outstanding 23 years
26th October 2008
Not many businesses are able to celebrate more than 23 years of outstanding success and achievement. The DIAL-AN-ANGEL Group can boast not one, but two such companies operating under the "Angels" banner. DIAL-AN-ANGEL Melbourne and DIAL-AN-ANGEL Perth recently celebrated 23 years serving their clients. When these operations opened their doors both of them had neither Angels nor clients. Today tells a very different story.
The Melbourne office was opened on 2nd September 1985 on Chester Street in Oakleigh with Lei Thomson and Renate Triffett as joint partners. DIAL-AN-ANGEL relocated to its current premises at St Kilda Rd, St Kilda in October 1999 with Lei Thomson still at the helm.
Lei opened the doors with no Angels and no clients. She placed her first advertisement in The Age requesting 40 applicants to become registered as Angels. By the end of the first month she had 16 clients and 20 registered Angels who were security screened and available for work!
The Perth office was opened on the 1st September 1985 by Brenda Johnstone and Victoria Hogarth in the inner Perth area of Subiaco. A lovely little office on the first floor overlooked a courtyard in Subiaco Mews. Vicki eventually bought Brenda's share in the company, worked hard and developed a fine reputation extending beyond Perth - North, South and East into West Australia. When Vicki was felled by cancer in 1996, the business passed into other hands but was eventually revitalised when Maria Salter became sole franchisee in 2004.
Maria passed the torch to Lynda Armstrong in 2005 who moved the business to Ardross and who remains the Archangel in Perth. In spite of the lack of available applicants (the mining communities paid unbelievably high rates to attract workers from Perth), Lynda has a solid and expanding team of quality Angels and is always seeking to add to the ranks of Angels.
