DIAL-AN-ANGEL soars to new heights in 2010 

Nothing could have confirmed the need for DIAL-AN-ANGEL’s home care and family support services more than the last nervous 12 months. As most businesses faltered DIAL-AN-ANGEL operated through the recession with a newfound determination and recently celebrated 43 years in business. As the economy turns the corner, the CEO, Danielle Robertson, is ready to take DIAL-AN-ANGEL to new heights in 2010 and beyond.

 

The phones may have been a little quieter than usual but the general demand for cleaners, babysitters, carers, and nurses did not disappear during the financial crisis. Much like her mother, Dena Blackman, (who started DIAL-AN-ANGEL with a $200 bank loan in 1967), Danielle’s drive, and talent ensured that she made the best of the quieter times during the recession. “We spent a considerable amount of time working on the new strategic plan. It includes an overhaul of the IT infrastructure and updating operational processes. A new Finance Manager has been engaged and a Chief Operations Officer appointed to oversee the national operation of the Group of Companies. Our marketing plan for the year is ready to implement as Sales and Recruitment have been ramped up and revitalised” says Ms Robertson.

 

The prospect of these changes has amplified Danielle’s confidence to push forward in a direction that had been tentatively explored in 1972. Dena coined the phrase “Keep your staff where they belong – at work!” but at that time corporations were not yet ready to assist their staff with home support services. “Keeping professionals at work is essential to moving the economy forward so we started seriously proposing corporate services in the past 12 months. Many forward thinking legal firms and far-sighted corporations have already engaged DIAL-AN-ANGEL to provide their employees with emergency in-home support including childcare, eldercare and domestic assistance.”

 

Today, absenteeism costs Australian industry $7 billion annually. Parents experience enormous strains caused by the conflict of career and family life.
